Mike Shelby is a former Intelligence Sergeant and Contractor, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, and CEO of Forward Observer Systems, an intelligence technology company.
In this presentation, Mike examines the phenomenon known as Color Revolutions — mass political movements that use protests, civil resistance, and information campaigns to overthrow existing governments.
Drawing on historical case studies and intelligence analysis frameworks, Mike breaks down the common phases of these movements, from grievance formation and activist training to protest mobilization, organized resistance, and finally popular revolution. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how these movements are organized, the tactics and networks behind them, and why they have become a central tool in modern political competition.
