April Meeting
We will meet Thursday, April. 11, 2013, at the Bryan – C & J Bar B Que - 1010 South Texas Ave. (On the bend) at 6:30 p.m.
We’ll do something a little different this time and go back to what we used to do, spend some time eating and conversing before the business starts! Also, in continuing our ACT Strategy, the April meeting will focus on the volunteer aspect of PUSH BACK.
The presentation will feature:
- Sam Johnson – the leader of Brazos Valley Conservatives will explain the dynamics of successful outreach.
- The Brazos 200, an opportunity for accountability in keeping our state representative and senator on target. Hint: think of the story from last year about how Van Taylor can stand against Speaker Straus’ pressure to go moderate on votes.
Hope to see you there!

Hope to see you at C&J’s in Bryan!

March Monthly Meeting
February was a whirlwind of events and learning, probably a record number for our group in a single month. As the 2012 elections approach, and all we need to do to prepare for it adds up, we need to not only keep up our energy and stamina but be prepared to increase it each month until then.

Our speaker for the March meeting is businessman and College Station Councilman Jess Fields. Councilman Fields will be updating us on College Station’s progress scraping off the influence of ICLEI/Agenda 21. Star Parker: “Uncle Sam’s Plantation: How Big Government Enslaves the Poor”
Monday, February 27, 6:00-7:30 pmRudder Theatre
The Texas Aggie Conservatives (thanks!!) are presenting Star Parker as keynote speaker for their First Annual Social Justice Program.
Where do we begin in describing this amazing lady? Here’s the first few paragraphs of her organization’s website:
Star Parker is the founder and president of CURE, the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, a 501(c)(3) non-profit think tank which promotes market based public policy to fight poverty.
Before involvement in social activism, Star Parker had seven years of first-hand experience in the grip of welfare dependency. Now, as a social policy consultant, Star is bringing new energy to policy discussions on how to transition America’s poor from government dependency.
She is a sought after expert on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC and for national radio, television, and print interviews, nationwide.
A number of us got to hear Star’s speech here last week. It is hard to fully express how much everyone within driving distance should come to this event!
Here’s the Facebook Event Page. Please sign up!
FreedomWorks
