Thank you, Nancy

Nancy Coppock speaking at outdoor event

Nancy Coppock hosting the April 15, 2009 Tea Party at Tanglewood Park in Bryan

From Nancy:

My chemotherapy regimen is very difficult. The effects of the scleroderma in my lungs makes breathing hard and does not seem to be improving. Therefore, I must now officially remove myself from the established leadership team and even in active participation in our group.

For those who may not know, Nancy Coppock is the original organizer and primary force behind starting and keeping the Bryan/College Station Tea Party going. While many, many people have helped and come alongside, from March 2009 until very recently, Nancy was ultimately the one who ensured that this group kept going month in and month out.

From the Leadership Team

Therefore, the leadership team would like to make the following statement of gratitude and best wishes as she steps down:

Nancy, you have influenced so many lives in the cause of liberty. Over time we will remember the things you have taught us, and only over time will we fully realize all the ways you have influenced us to value republican (little “r”) principles and action.

You alone had the vision of the B/CS Tea Party. From the first large meeting April 15, 2009 at Tanglewood Park, you faithfully emphasized and modeled both the learning and action required by the founding principles of our nation.

You encouraged us to work as a team, with no single leader. Now, you are leaving us with a team of leaders that will carry on. Nancy, your example, encouragement and exhortations have and will lead us. We pledge to continue the fight for individual liberty, to uphold the founding principles, and to pass them on to all who will embrace them.

Nancy – you are a truly republican leader; a motivational speaker who is both well educated and articulate. You have been a bottomless source of information and your leadership has been nothing short of remarkable. Paul and I wish you the very best as you fight this disease.

Thank you, Nancy, for your dedication to educating any one who would listen to the principles of liberty! You have been an inspiration to me since that very first meeting. May God be with you and your family as you continue on your journey to recovery!

  6. Claus D. Wagner says:

I attended the original meeting at Tanglewood Park and became a citizen after that in order to participate actively in the election process and support the Tea Party Candidates like Ted Cruz. Thank you Nancy for your enlightenment for this “ex-former” and don’t give up the fight.

  10. Nancy,
To say thank you seems so shallow but Thank you! Your tireless work and insite are so valuable.
Though we have never met and likely won’t, I can very much empathize with your situation. I struggle with multiple sclerosis and am wheelchair bound. But, you can know that I do support the efforts of the Tea Party.
    Blessings to you,
    Celeste
