Pray For Our Nation This Sunday

The Rob Curnock campaign is hosting a prayer vigil for our nation.

God promised Solomon,

If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.         II Chronicles 13-14

We too, are a nation in distress because of our disregard of God and His laws. God is sovereign over all the destructive forces happening in our nation and across the globe. Join with others in body and spirit as we pray for God’s mercy, forgiveness, and healing for our nation.

Sunday, March 27th, at 3:30 p. m. – 4:15 p.m.

After the tragedy of the earthquake in Haiti, the President of that nation cancelled Mardi Gras and called for 3 days of prayer and fasting. The people came and prayed to God for forgiveness and healing. 101 confirmed voodoo priests repented of their work and are believing in only Christ and Him crucified.

Let our prayers be like the prayers of the people of Haiti and repentance come to our nation like the cool spring rain that waters the earth.

Yeah, sure…. & I’m pretty sure the next thing you are going to say is that 9/11 occurred because homosexuality is (not really) tolerated here in America (thanks, Jerry Falwell!). Besides, I’ve talked to Curnock; he admitted that he is favor of not even auditing the Federal Reserve (much less ending it), and actually likes the USA Patriot Act. “Common Sense Conservative?” More like “Common Sense Neo-Con.” What lover of liberty would be caught dead associating with a politician (in general, of course, but here I want to be more specific) who is in favor of expanding Big Brother with all the concomitant surveillance police state measures? Now, maybe he is one of those conservatives who got suckered in by the 9/11 Myth (which even 6 of the 10 McKean-Hamilton commissioners & 2 of 4 of their lawyers have admitted in mainstream news is a fraudulent cover-up, in large part to the Pentagon), as well as Bush’s imperialistic wars against Afghanistan & Iraq (of which 9/11 was the fundamental pretext).

I would like to point out that at the last CPAC event, Ron Paul won the straw poll for who is preferred to be the next president, even beating Mitt Romney. I think this indicates that TRUE CONSERVATIVES ARE NOT FOR AGGRESSIVE WARS. I know Dr. Paul ain’t perfect, but he certainly a more authentic liberty lover than these so-called Tea Party candidates opposing him in his own district.

This is exactly the reason I don’t like organized religion (even the 17th century British poet John Milton did not either, & he’s about as religiously devout as they come) as a socialization agent, especially when it comes to politics. A proud constitutional precedent is the “wall of separation between church & state” pursuant to judicial interpretations of the Free Exercise & Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment. First of all, sovereignty comes from the consent of the governed populace, that is, it is bottom up in concurrence with natural law; this contrasts with the Divine Being’s authoritarian top-down manner. This is why monarchy, & especially the Divine Right of Kings, was in such accordance with the religious atmosphere (Catholic particularly, but even with Protestants at times).

The last thing to do after a major disaster is to cancel a festival, unless there was no way to carry it out, but at the very least it is a bad idea to replace it with such a macbre atmosphere. Hell, the survivors should be celebrating that they made it through, if they so choose. Apparently, the vast majority of government officials don’t believe in self-determination any more, as further evidence by the passage of the draconian health non-care law.

You know what would be a “cool spring rain that waters the earth?” LIBERTY.

  2. It may be that atheists owe a debt of gratitude to Christianity. Our beliefs when put into action, create a stable and safe environmnet in which private property rights and a strong work ethic produce a community in which ALL people can flourish.

Gathering together to pray for our nation is unorganized religion at its best, neither does it recommend a candidate.

I am grateful a man remembers to call us to prayer for our nation on such a holy day.
